Maternity session:
I value a relaxed atmosphere during all my sessions. Taking our time and running on mom and baby time.
1) Plan on having your maternity shoot between 30 and 36 weeks which is 7-8 months. So mom is comfortable and safe. I typically hold maternity sessions between 32 and 36 weeks, when your baby bump is beautifully prominent but before you get too uncomfortable. If you are expecting twins or triplets, I suggest holding the session between 26-30 weeks. I recommend booking your session a minimum of 2 months in advance to secure your spot on my calendar. It is best to book your newborn session at the same time.
2) We can do photographs in studio or on a location of your choice. With and/or without your partner, kids and fur babies. I also offer milk baths which is also a beautiful option.
Newborn session:
1) The absolute best age for a newborn photo shoot, for this newborn photographer at least, is between 7 and 10 days old. Babies at this age still tend to be pretty chilled, curled up and sleepy. And you really will want to remember what your gorgeous new baby looked like at their absolute teeniest!
2) I do not expect your two year old to follow directions, your newborn to sleep the whole time, or your kids to be on their best behavior. I do not expect dad to be comfortable in front of the camera or mom to be stress free after she just completed the nearly impossible task of prepping a family for family photos. Real life seldom resembles photos on Instagram.
3) I will interact with your baby so I can get to know them and make sure that they are comfortable or chit chat with your little ones. Happy kids = real smiles = fantastic photos! I love to be goofy and have fun.
4)I treat your baby like I would my own. The studio is warm and toasty to keep baby comfortable. I run on baby time. Frequent breaks for feedings, rocking and cuddling, and cleaning up after a baby who is spitting up or diaperless for the shoot is par for the course. I love newborns and really enjoy getting those precious photos for you.
5) I am versatile. You have great ideas you want to include? Cool. You have no idea what you want? That’s cool too. I’m sure to have lots of ideas for you.
Cake Smash
Your baby’s first birthday is a huge milestone and a reason to celebrate. A cake smash session is customized to your theme or color preferences. I will provide set up. Cake is provided by family. By far the messiest shoot and one of my favorite! Please bring a change of clothes for your little one just in case.
